Tabaiba amarilla de La Gomera (Euphorbia lambii)
Very branched shrub over 2 m tall, with thin branches and narrow lanceolate leaves. Flowers are greenish-yellow and surrounded by very large floral bracts. Fruit (capsule) is yellowish or light brown. Endemic to La Gomera, relegated to cliffs and crags in evergreen and laurel forests between 600 and 800 m altitude. This rare plant is very scarce, with highly localized natural populations, and is part of a genetic rescue programme in Garajonay National Park. Moreover, its considerable potential as an ornamental species means that this tabaiba is grown in many gardens. According to some botanists, the great similarity with the Tenerife tabaiba E. bourgeauana could be an indication that they comprise a single species.
