Sonajera, rabo cordero (Reseda crystallina)
Annual (therophyte) to (more rarely) perennial, fleshy and small (up to 20 cm tall). Leaves are pinnatisect, green or reddish-green, up to 4 cm long. Flowers are yellow and grow in small terminal inflorescences. Fruits are rather verrucous capsules. This native of the Canaries is present in Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, and on the islets of Alegranza, Montaña Clara, La Graciosa and Lobos, from sea level to 600-700 m altitude, mainly in potential zones of lowland Euphorbia communities. It grows equally in sandy, stony or rocky terrain, and is common in many areas. Abundance varies considerably from year to year, depending on rainfall. Another species of the genus Reseda (R. scoparia) is native to the Canaries and is found in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Gomera and La Palma.
