Siempreviva de mar (Limonium pectinatum)

Dwarf shrub (up to 25 cm tall), with a woody base. Leaves are almost always spathulate (varying according to the taxonomic variety in question: L. pectinatum, L. corculum, L. divaricatum or L. solandri), rather fleshy, light green or glaucous, up to 2-5 cm long and arranged in rosettes. Inflorescences are not winged, flowers are pale mauve or pink with pinkish or whitish bracts. This native of the Canaries is a halophyte and is distributed throughout the central and western islands (Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro), where it is very common in coastal areas. It can ascend to 200 m on coastal cliffs battered by sea spray.
