Mocoguirre (Senecio incrassatus)
Annual, small (less than 30 cm tall) short-lived herb or succulent shrub. Highly branched from the base, leaves up to 5 cm long and 2.5 cm wide, very irregular, margins revolute. Flowers are arranged in terminal heads and are deep yellow. This species grows on volcanic ash, stony plains and sandy soils in low-lying areas. A native of the Canaries and Madeira, it is common in Madeira and the Savage Islands, and much more localized, though locally common, in the Canaries, where it is found on El Hierro and La Palma.
