Ruda canaria (Ruta pinnata)

Woody shrub that can reach up to 2 m tall. Leaves are pinnate, light green, lobes linear to rhomboidal. Flowers are bright yellow, petals small, margins ciliate. Fruits are somewhat rounded orangey-brown capsules. This species is a native of La Palma and Tenerife, where it is found in strongholds of thermophile vegetation from 150-700 m. In Tenerife, it is present in the northeast, northwest and southwest sectors, and less so in the southeast. In La Palma, it is locally common and mainly grows in the north and on the eastern flank.
