Rosalito de Anaga (Pterocephalus virens)

Woody, compact, rosette cushion plant, leaves oblong, dark green, tips rounded. Pink flowers are borne singly at the end of stems. This rupicolous species is endemic to Anaga massif, from sea level to 500 m, on damp north-facing rocky crags and cliffs. Locally common, its distribution area is nonetheless restricted. In some parts it is under threat from grazing goats and is therefore considered Vulnerable. All populations are protected within the confines of Anaga Rural Park and Ijuana Integral Nature Reserve.
