Picopajarito de escoba (Kickxia scoparia)

Erect, woody base, very delicate, with thin, flexible twigs, up to 1 m tall. Leaves are very narrow, linear, herbaceous, up to 2.5 cm long. Flowers are solitary, terminal or subterminal, yellow, with a clearly visible spur. This species is characteristic of arid and semi-arid areas, from sea level to 1,000 m. It often appears among lowland Euphorbia communities, is common in many areas, particularly in south Tenerife and Gran Canaria, but is also present in La Gomera and La Palma.
