Pelotilla de Lanzarote (Sedum nudum ssp. lancerottense)
Succulent herb, small and cushion-shaped, with hanging branches. Leaves are fleshy, subcylindrical, glaucous or bluish-green, glabrous and around 1 cm long. Yellow flowers are arranged in small terminal inflorescences. A native of Lanzarote (Canary Islands), the subspecies S. nudum is exclusive to Madeira. This rupicolous plant is quite rare and is found on the coastal cliffs of Famara, lower inland slopes and in the northern half of the island, in north-northwest-facing areas with a high atmospheric moisture, from 200-670 m altitude. This species is considered Vulnerable, owing to restricted distribution and relative scarcity.
