Lechuga de mar, acelga de mar, servilleta (Astydamia latifolia)
Herbaceous perennial, leaves succulent, pinnate or incised-dentate, with a tendency to dry back in summer. Inflorescence is an umbel, with up to 15 pedicels and yellow flowers. Mature fruits are light brown. This halophyte is found throughout the Canaries (though it is rare or very localized in the easternmost islands) and Savage Islands, and in Northwest Africa, where it is characteristic of coastal communities and thrives on rocky soils. It can also colonize sandy substrates.
