Incienso morisco (Artemisia ramosa)

Woody shrub, highly branched, up to 60 cm. Erect, with vertical or curved branches. Leaves are bi-pinnatisect, herbaceous, greyish-green and aromatic. Flowers are small, yellowish, with brownish-grey tones. This native of the Canaries is only found in the central islands (Tenerife and Gran Canaria), where it grows from sea level to 1,000 m, within lowland Euphorbia communities. More widespread in Gran Canaria, in Tenerife it is only found in certain arid zones of Arona and neighbouring areas, especially in the malpaís or badlands of La Rasca, where it can be common in clay-like soils. In Gran Canaria, it spreads over the rocky stony hillsides of the centre and south, and is found far away from the coast.
