Góngaro canario (Aeonium canariense ssp. latifolium)

A short fleshy plant, composed of flat basal rosettes of fragrant spathulate leaves with rounded tips. Flowers are subsessile, bright yellow, arranged in a somewhat dense inflorescence. This endemic of La Gomera grows on rocky surfaces over the entire northern flank of the island, from 200-1,100 m. It is locally abundant, especially on north-facing rocky walls with a certain degree of moisture.
