Corregüelón de monte (Convolvulus canariensis)

Perennial, scrambling woody shrub, leaves evergreen or caducous. Leaves are ovoid-oblong, very downy on both sides, smooth to the touch, 4-9 cm long, nerves prominent on underside, light green or greyish-green. Flowers are pinkish-white or pale blue and borne singly or in small clusters. Endemic to the Canaries, found in the central and western islands, where it is common in evergreen woodland, and fayal-brezal firetree and heath forests. It grows from 400 to 1,000 m, is locally common and occasionally forms large populations over the treetops.
