Contra-Bruxas-Branca (Campanula bravensis)

Highly branched, woody base, branches up to 80 cm long. Light-green leaves, whitish ribs, lanceolate-spathulate or rarely ovate, up to 8 cm long and 2 cm wide. Bell-shaped flowers, narrow, long (up to 3 cm), whitish-green and occasionally purplish. Native to the Sotavento Islands, more specifically Santiago, Fogo and Brava. It grows between 70 and 2,700 m altitude but is most frequent at 600-1,600 m, primarily in north- or northwest-facing, humid or subhumid rocky zones. A scrambling herb, common to several islands, where it can be locally plentiful or even widespread. It is therefore not considered an endangered species, except on the island of Santiago, where it is rare.
