Colderrisco de Güímar (Crambe arborea)
Shrub up to 2.5 m tall, stem ridged. Leaves are petiolate, ovate, ovate-lanceolate or elliptic, rather laciniate or pinnatifid, and rough to the touch. Flowers are numerous, white and arranged in panicles. This native of the Canaries is relegated to the Ladera de Güímar escarpment (Tenerife) and several ravines in the area between 400 and 600-700 m. It is common to rocky habitats, since it usually grows on rocky outcrops, sheer slopes and stone walls. Despite being included within a natural protected area (Corona Forestal Nature Park) and being relatively common, it is considered Vulnerable. A total number of 5,860 specimens have been counted in three different areas, the main threats being landslides, drought and competition with other species.
