Cardoncillo gris (Ceropegia fusca)
Succulent, stems cylindrical and jointed, greyer and thicker than those of Ceropegia dichotoma, flowers reddish-brown. Species exclusive to Gran Canaria and Tenerife. Part of lowland xerophytic vegetation and highly characteristic of Euphorbia communities, particularly in south Tenerife. In Gran Canaria, it grows from sea level to 1,200 m, and in Tenerife from 0 to 700 m, but is more abundant in lower areas. This species is well suited to use as an ornamental in gardens at low altitudes.
