Cabezón de Webb (Cheirolophus webbianus)
Shrub, woody at the base, up to 1.5 m, scarcely branched, stems and leaves herbaceous. Leaves are oblanceolate, generally light green, margins entire or slightly dentate. Inflorescences have few flowers, floscules are creamy-white. Endemic to the island of Tenerife, where it grows in scattered populations along the north side, from the Anaga mountain range to the easternmost foothills of Teno, above 100 m to the beginnings of evergreen forest and, less frequently, humid or mixed pine forest. This thermophilic species of rocky plant can be found on coastal cliffs, ravine walls, rocky outcrops and sheer slopes, sometimes in dense populations. It is, however, considered a Vulnerable species because of its limited distribution. In any case, most populations are protected by several protected natural areas. One of the species of the Flaviflorae section of the genus Cheirolophus.
