Bracel-da-rocha (Festuca petraea)

Grass 30-70 cm tall, densely caespitose, erect or pendulous. Very fine linear leaves and floral spikelets arranged in dense greenish-white panicles. It is found on cliffs and badlands in coastal areas and other environments up to 200 m altitude. This species is native to the archipelago of the Azores, is commonly found on all the islands and is a prominent feature of coastal vegetation.
