Bejeque de malpaís (Aeonium lancerottense)
Succulent shrub, to 40-50 cm, highly branched, woody, very fleshy stems. Leaves are green or greyish-green, arranged in terminal rosettes and obovate-spathulate, with reddish ciliate margins. Very striking pink flowers are clustered in dense, terminal pyramid-like inflorescences. This native of Lanzarote is locally common in the centre and north of the island, from 200-600 m, in the rocky habitats of malpaíses or badlands, ridges and cliffs.
