Arroz da rocha, erva-arroz (Sedum brissemoretii)
A perennial of the family Crassulaceae, slightly woody, small, up to 15-20 cm. It has a glabrous succulent stem like other species of the genus Sedum found in Madeira, numerous branches of leaves subovate to subcylindrical, rather greyish-green or glaucous and clustered at the tip. Flowers are small, star-shaped and yellow. Found in very few localities on the north-facing flank of Madeira, generally near the coast (for example, in ravines), although it sometimes ascends to 500 m. Common to rocky habitats and usually accompanied by the two island species of Aeonium, among others. Because this rare plant is highly localized, it is subject to a certain degree of threat.
