Adelfa de monte (Euphorbia mellifera) (= E. longifolia)
Shrub or tree up to 15 m, evergreen, bark grey and smooth. Leaves are large, narrowly lanceolate, up to 20 cm long and 3.5 cm wide, dark green and clustered at the tip of the branches. Inflorescences are terminal and not very striking. Fruits globose, 1 cm in diameter, initially light green. This species is exclusive to the evergreen forests of Madeira and the Canaries but is far more common on the island of Madeira than on Tenerife, La Gomera or La Palma. It is therefore considered an endangered plant, particularly in the Canaries.
